OUR WELLNESS HUB

Chorley itself, according to the latest government website statistics, is in the in the bottom 15% most deprived areas in the UK.  The Wellness Hub at St Laurence's, which was officially launched in 2023 and is open throughout the week, aims to serve the local community and meet their needs by providing ‘whole person wellness’. The Wellness Hub is primarily volunteer led by a team of over 100 volunteers.  Their amazing contribution to their community work was recognised in 2024 by becoming a finalist in the National Church Trust Volunteer Awards see here.

This is done through the provision of a number of services offered throughout the week including (click on the titles of any of the provisions below to see more details):  

  • Mental Health Drop-ins(NEW FOR 2024)
    Confidential wellbeing support from a qualified mental health coach from Lancashire Mind
     
  • Open Table 
    Free hot meal provision for anyone in need
  • Free Emergency Food Parcels 
    Providing emergency help with food provision for those in need
     
  • Debt Help and Money Management 
    For all those struggling with debt or budgeting - run in conjunction with Christians Against Poverty (CAP)
     
  • Bereavement Cafe 
    A warm, friendly and safe place for grieving people to connect with others and find comfort
     
  • Ongoing Ad hoc Courses
    Delivered on site in conjunction with Lancashire adult learning we have a number of different courses available throughout the year
