CAP Debt Help
At St Laurence's Church, we provide three services:
- Debt counselling
- CAP Life Skills
- CAP Money Coaching
Debt Counselling
If you find yourself, or know someone struggling with debt, please ask them to reach out - help is available.
St Laurence's Church operates a debt counselling service, where we can either visit someone in their home, or invite them to the debt centre to offer them help.
Do you need help?
-
If you are ready to tackle the debt situation, please call CAP's main number on 0800 328 0006. A friendly person will answer the phone, ask you where you live to check that your postcode is covered by CAP. If so, they will make an appointment for you.
The CAP debt centre manager will then get in touch. We can either come to your home, or you can come to the debt centre inside St Laurence's Church (or another venue if that works better for you).
-
If you are not quite ready, or have some questions (we know it's a big thing to ask for help!) come along and meet someone from the CAP Chorley team. We provide a free drop-in each Wednesday inside the debt centre from 1-2pm. It's very informal, have a cup of tea and a chat, find out how we can help.
We also 'pop up' at other venues, such as at the Chorley Family Hub 'One Stop Shop' (held on the second Thursday of the month, at Inspire Youth Zone, from 9am-12pm).
Every Wednesday 1.00-2.00pm - no appointment necessary

Each Wednesday we operate a CAP (Christians Against Poverty) debt centre drop-in, from 1-2pm . Free benefits checks are available, information and advice on how to budget and tackle debt is available too. If you want to tackle your debt - come along and find out how CAP can help. No appointment necessary.
